This Registered Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists across dental procedures. Responsibilities include dental X-rays, digital images, instrument sterilization, infection control, patient education, chart updates, scheduling, and patient flow. The role emphasizes comfort, strong relationships, ethical conduct, and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
- Assist dentists and hygienists while maintaining patient comfort
- Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
- Sterilize instruments and follow IPAC infection control standards
- Update charts and educate patients about oral hygiene
Requirements:
- Registration or certification with the provincial regulatory body or association
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Ability to follow privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
- Ethical professional behaviour with patients
