Process charitable donations accurately for the University of Alberta in a hybrid role combining remote work with Enterprise Square attendance.
Reporting to the Program Lead, Gift Acceptance & Processing, this Donation Processing Associate supports fundraising operations within the Gift Processing Team. The position handles cash, cheques, electronic transfers, securities, gifts-in-kind, pledges, and online donations. It also maintains records, issues tax receipts, reconciles deposits, and supports CRA compliance and university policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process varied charitable donations and issue accurate tax receipts
- Maintain donor, gift, and allocation records
- Prepare deposits, gift batches, and reconciliations
- Review transactions, resolve discrepancies, and complete adjustments
- Support pledge processing and donor correspondence
Requirements:
- Accounting, Finance, or related certificate or diploma
- At least one year of relevant financial processing experience
- Microsoft Office, Excel, financial systems, and database proficiency
- Strong accuracy, organization, judgment, and communication skills
- Knowledge of CRA receipting and FOIP requirements
