Lead mining mechanical engineering for AECOM’s capital projects, combining bulk materials handling expertise with a hybrid work model across Canadian offices. This Senior Mechanical Engineer supports mine and port operations across capital and sustaining capital projects. You will develop practical solutions for surface and underground mining, including conveyors, crushers, chutes, pumps, and piping. The work spans feasibility, detailed design, procurement, commissioning, and operational support while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical systems for greenfield works, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements
- Design bulk materials handling systems for sustaining capital initiatives
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and three-dimensional mechanical models
- Lead engineering tasks through design, procurement, and commissioning phases
- Conduct site visits and troubleshoot existing mining systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- Eight or more years in mining mechanical engineering
- Surface and underground mining equipment design experience
- Familiarity with CEMA, ISO, DIN, Sidewinder, or Belt Analyst
- Canadian Professional Engineer registration and mining equipment knowledge
