December 3, 2026 St John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Women continue to face a retirement savings gap, but research presented at the 2026 CPBI FORUM suggests income isn't the only factor. How employees engage with their workplace savings plans—and the support they receive along the way—can make a meaningful difference.

For Alberta employers and plan sponsors, October 1, 2026 marks more than a change in how claims are processed. It represents a fundamental shift in who pays first — with implications for plan costs, contracts, administration and employee communication.

The Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI) is proud to announce the induction of four exceptional members into the CPBI Hall of Distinction for 2026.

Located in downtown Winnipeg at The Forks, TRAF (Teachers’ Retirement Allowances Fund) is seeking a professional, dedicated and service-oriented Member Services Specialist. This position plays a key role in supporting members by providing pension plan information, preparing benefit calculations and delivering retirement education. The Member Services Specialist works closely with members and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and high-quality service.

As the Member Services Specialist, you will:

  • Provide accurate, timely and complete pension plan information to members through appointments, presentations, and verbal and written communications.

  • Prepare and deliver accurate and complete member benefit calculations within established service standards.
  • Verify and review benefit calculations and related work completed by other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with the efficient processing of documentation required to administer and pay pension benefits.
  • Recommend improvements to systems, processes and procedures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of member service.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
