In this role, you will support the development of roadway, highway, complete streets, and multimodal transportation designs from concept through final design, contributing to geometric layouts, roadway alignments, grading, drainage coordination, maintenance of traffic plans, and construction documentation. You will perform engineering analyses, prepare technical reports and design calculations, develop plans and specifications, and ensure project deliverables meet applicable standards, including agency requirements and guidelines. What You'll Do:

  • Apply established engineering principles, industry best practices, and applicable federal, state, and local design standards to ensure accurate, compliant, and constructible project deliverables.
  • Perform roadway geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment development, corridor modeling, grading design, and related engineering analyses to support project objectives.
  • Develop construction plans, engineer’s estimates, quantity calculations, and cost estimates while assisting with project documentation and design package preparation.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, traffic, structures, utilities, environmental, and survey professionals to deliver integrated transportation solutions.
  • Support communication and coordination with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders by assisting with meetings, presentations, technical correspondence, and project reviews.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews by checking plans, calculations, and technical documents, addressing review comments, and helping maintain consistency with project requirements and company standards.
  • Provide engineering support during bidding and construction phases by responding to requests for information (RFIs), evaluating field conditions, reviewing submittals, and assisting in the resolution of design-related issues encountered during construction.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 4-10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
  • Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
