We are looking for a Data Analyst for an existing vacancy in our Investment Data Architecture (IDArch) team.

Our team resides within the middle office and enables the organization to get more value from its investment data.

We lead Modern Data Platform (MDP) enablement for the investment data domain, set the standards and governance that help business teams own and build trusted data products, and act as primary owners of the Investment Data Management platform, including security master, pricing master, and market reference data.

We place high value on maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit and creating a culture where each of us has opportunities to succeed.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic strategic team whose scope and influence are growing enterprise-wide.

Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with investment and operations stakeholders to understand their data needs, and translate them into clear business requirements, data definitions, business rules, and acceptance criteria for the technical team.
  • Support business data owners in defining and preparing trusted, reusable investment datasets (data products) through intake, definition and readiness using agreed standards, and contribute to ongoing stewardship and lifecycle reviews.
  • Develop conceptual and logical investment data models with business owners and technical partners and explain them clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to define and validate business transformation rules and source-to-target mappings and confirm that delivered data meets business expectations.
  • Work with data owners and stewards to define data quality rules and critical data elements and analyze data-quality exceptions and reconciliation breaks.
  • Act as a subject‑matter resource on security master, pricing, holdings and reference data across equity, fixed income, and derivatives, ensuring consistency across systems.
  • Document data models, mappings, data flows and business processes, and contribute business glossary terms, data definitions and lineage information to support transparency and governance.
  • Contribute to strategic data projects – including requirements, testing, and release validation – in collaboration with operations, engineering, and senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve investment data usability, consistency and operational efficiency.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Analysis, or a related field. Progress toward a designation such as the CFA or FRM is an asset.
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment management or financial services, ideally in investment data management, investment operations, or business analysis.

Hands‑on knowledge of equity, fixed income, or derivative data is required; experience with security master, pricing, or an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform is a plus.

  • Proven ability to elicit requirements, run working sessions, and turn ambiguous business needs into clear, documented requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • SQL is an asset; familiarity with Python, Py Spark, Lakehouse architecture, Microsoft Fabric or similar data platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to conceptual or logical data modeling, or experience defining data entities, relationships and business rules, is an asset.
  • Understanding of data quality, data ownership, data governance and metadata concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to business users and business needs to technical teams.
  • A curious, detail‑oriented self‑starter who takes initiative and delivers outcomes with measurable results.

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000–$120,000.

The midpoint represents our general market target for a fully qualified and experienced individual performing the role.

Actual starting salary may fall below or above the midpoint depending on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations.
