Join our team and make a difference after brain injury and stroke!

CONNECT Parksville is looking for compassionate, dependable individuals to join our growing team as Life Redesign Coaches for evening and awake overnight shifts!

As a guest on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations, home to the Snaw-Naw-As First Nation and Qualicum First Nation, you will represent CONNECT by building meaningful relationships within our community.

  • Employment: Permanent, hourly position
  • Wage: Starting at $28/hour
  • Shifts: 8-hour evening and awake overnight shifts, approximately 3–4 shifts per week
  • Hours: Starting at 24+ hours weekly, with potential to increase to 32 hours
  • Availability: Must be comfortable working evenings and/or awake overnight shifts and at least one weekend shift per week
  • Start Date: Flexible as we continue opening our Parksville location in phases

Important: All overnight shifts are AWAKE shifts. Coaches must remain awake, alert and available throughout the entire shift. These are not sleep shifts.

About the Role

As a Life Redesign Coach, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of professional coaches to support people living with brain injury and stroke.

Using our "doing-with" rather than "doing-for" approach, you'll support independence, meaningful daily routines and individual Life Redesign goals.

Evening and overnight responsibilities include:

  • Supporting personal care, evening and overnight routines
  • Cooking, meal preparation and supporting nutrition
  • Cleaning, laundry and maintaining shared living spaces
  • Responding to overnight support needs and maintaining a safe environment
  • Supporting meaningful activities and individual goals
  • Completing documentation and communicating with the incoming coaching team

Personal care is a requirement of this position and may include bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, feeding and tube-delivered nutrition.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Kind, dependable and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to cook, clean and provide personal care
  • Ability to remain awake, alert and responsive throughout overnight shifts
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in challenging situations
  • Experience with brain injury or caregiving is an asset, but not required

No care aide certification required! We hire for fit and values first and provide comprehensive orientation and on-the-job training.

What We Offer

  • Starting wage of $28/hour
  • Permanent employment with potential for full-time hours
  • Benefits package, including group retirement plan (subject to eligibility)
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • A supportive, collaborative coaching environment
