About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Community Safety to provide strategic leadership and subject-matter expertise for safety services. The role leads the development and implementation of an evidence-informed, relationship- and community-centred safety model, while directing operations in alignment with institutional priorities and values. The Executive Director builds trusted relationships with diverse community members and external partners, and leads major initiatives involving governance, policy, emergency preparedness, risk management, service coordination, and operational practices. Success requires balancing strategic priorities, operational needs, and institutional risk while advancing inclusive approaches to safety.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as emergency management, criminology, public administration, or community development, and have leadership experience in community safety, emergency management, security services, risk management, or a comparable field. Strong strategic, operational, and people leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities and partnerships. The role calls for expertise in inclusive, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and human rights-informed approaches to complex safety issues.
