About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its national organization with a focus on advancing affordable housing. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and external leadership to scale the organization's investment platform and deliver meaningful housing outcomes.
This role requires an accomplished bilingual executive with a background in a complex organization, investment platform, housing organization, financial institution, public sector entity, pension fund, impact investment fund, real estate organization, or a similar environment. The CEO will oversee the deployment and stewardship of substantial capital, establish robust governance and accountability frameworks, and build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government, Indigenous communities, housing providers, investors, and philanthropic partners.
Key responsibilities for the CEO include leading the organization in its mission to preserve affordable rental homes and create lasting social and financial outcomes for Canadians. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing large-scale financial initiatives, strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership capabilities, particularly in a start-up environment. Exceptional judgment, strategic and relationship-building skills, and a genuine commitment to affordable housing and social impact are essential. Experience working with Indigenous governments, organizations, or investment partners is considered a significant asset. The role demands a leader who can operate at the intersection of investment management, affordable housing, and public policy, and who is prepared to mobilize significant capital to support solutions that maintain affordability and expand access to affordable housing.
