Lead Cohere’s Data Foundation pillar with BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, and Terraform across a remote-friendly global technology company. Shape trustworthy AI data infrastructure. As head of Data Foundation, you will lead the team responsible for Cohere’s warehouse, pipelines, governance, and agentic analytics layer. You will set the roadmap, develop engineers, and deliver infrastructure that supports analytics surfaces and AI systems. The work spans ingestion, orchestration, modeling, serving, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, hire, and grow data and infrastructure engineering talent
- Set the Data Foundation roadmap from company strategy
- Own ingestion, orchestration, modeling, and analytics serving
- Define governed access for people, accounts, and agents
- Lead reliability, incidents, postmortems, and operational standards
Requirements:
- 10+ years across data engineering, infrastructure, or analytics platforms
- Strong management record leading data platform teams
- Production experience with BigQuery, Airflow, and Terraform
- Depth in data modeling, testing, contracts, and semantic layers
- Experience with governance, IAM, audit, and compliance workflows
