Position Overview
They are seeking a motivated Financial Planning Analyst to join the finance team. This role is integral in supporting financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making across multiple mine sites. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders, travelling regularly to mine locations to support budgeting, forecasting, and business partnership activities.
Responsibilities
- Travel to mine sites to support financial planning and business analysis.
- Gather, compile, and analyze financial and operational data.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and strategic planning.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis.
- Monitor capital expenditures and manage fixed asset reporting.
- Collaborate with business unit managers to finalize reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Support stakeholder reporting and assist with ad hoc financial projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal systems and contribute to process optimization.
- Uphold all company policies related to health & safety, environment, and business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in general accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis.
- Working towards CPA designation preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cost analysis, budgeting, and project costing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Able to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Adaptable, organized, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and contributes to a positive team environment.
