With offices across Canada, Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP is a niche forensic engineering, environmental science, and remediation consulting firm that is a leader in providing services to insurance and risk management clients. Pario has an existing opening for a Technical Lead to join our remediation and emergency response team in Atlantic Canada.

The successful candidate will provide technical oversight and project management support to our project managers on projects typically related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills. The right individual will need to be a dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented professional able to motivate and work well with others. While these projects will involve issuing scientific reports, the main objectives are to mitigate the loss, remediation of the site, and support our clients closing their files, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer or Geoscientist with at least 5 years experience in the remediation industry.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical oversight on emergency response activities including initial investigation, real time remedial planning, field supervision and documentation.
  • This position will involve spill response, and may require after hours support (remote and on site).
  • Client and regulatory report preparation and liaising with regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Client engagement and participation in business development activities in conjunction with the regional director.
  • While there will be a wide variety of projects, the primary types will be transportation losses involving diesel fuel or domestic/commercial fuel oil releases.

The successful candidate will be energetic, results oriented with team building experience. The position will require travel and involve limited periodic evening and weekend work, for which you will be compensated.

Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer or Geoscientist.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience within the environmental field with at least two years in a technical review role.
  • Experience in soil and groundwater remediation projects including delineation, monitoring and management.
  • Experience with managing and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of the Atlantic Risk-Based Corrective Action (Atlantic RBCA).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
