We are seeking a talented individual to join our Growth team, part of our Risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Toronto and is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.
You will drive market share expansion across Canada. This executive role is accountable for leading national new business growth, strengthening our presence in key markets, and elevating how we engage with the business community. As a member of the Executive Committee, you will help shape national strategy, contribute to broader business priorities, and ensure growth remains embedded across the organization.
You will lead a team of Producers and Industry Leaders while also maintaining a strong personal presence in the market. A significant portion of growth will come from close partnership with Segment Leaders, shaping client strategies, identifying opportunities, and bringing a more proactive, growth-oriented lens to existing relationships. You will also be accountable for advancing our industry strategy, deepening intellectual capital, strengthening industry-led sales support, and enhancing our external market presence.
Our approach to growth is grounded in a simple belief: when we solve the right problems for clients, growth follows. This role requires a shift from a traditional insurance-led approach to an enterprise-focused one, bringing the full breadth of our capabilities across risk and insurance, people, strategy, and capital to help clients address their most important business challenges.
We will count on you to:
- Drive National Growth and Market Share: Develop and execute a national growth agenda focused on expanding market share across Canada. Identify priority markets, industries, and target clients to drive sustained new business growth. Assess competitive dynamics and define clear strategies to improve positioning and win rates.
- Lead New Business Development: Build and advance a strong, diversified pipeline of new business opportunities. Personally lead or sponsor high-impact pursuits where executive presence improves the likelihood of success. Ensure a disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Activate the Client Team to Unlock Growth: Partner closely with Segment Leaders to shape client strategies and identify growth opportunities. Bring a proactive, enterprise-wide lens to client relationships, expanding beyond traditional insurance discussions.
- Expand to Full Firm Capability: Bring the full breadth of the firm's capabilities to clients across risk and insurance, people, strategy, and capital. Foster a culture of curiosity about clients' broader enterprise challenges.
- Build a Strong External Presence: Act as a visible and credible leader across Canada. Develop and maintain relationships with senior business leaders, centers of influence, and key stakeholders.
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Producers and Industry Leaders focused on new client acquisition. Set clear expectations for market activity, relationship building, and performance outcomes.
- Lead Strategic Pursuits and RFPs: Provide leadership on major pursuits and RFPs across the country. Shape win strategies, value propositions, and executive-level messaging.
- Contribute to Executive Committee Leadership: Serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, contributing to national strategy and business priorities.
- Drive Execution, Metrics, and Accountability: Establish and track clear growth metrics, including pipeline strength, win rates, and market share.
What you need to have:
- Proven track record of driving new business growth and expanding market share.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing sales or producer teams.
- Strong presence and credibility with senior business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and leverage external networks to generate opportunities.
- Experience influencing and partnering across client teams to drive growth.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate insight into action.
- Deep understanding of the Canadian market.
