Chronicle Wealth is a leading multi-family office providing independent wealth counsel to highly successful Canadian families. Our multidisciplinary team provides strategic investment, insurance and risk management, tax and estate planning, as well as financial planning advice to our clients. Our mission is to simplify and improve our clients' financial lives, enabling them to focus on their families, their businesses, and their other pursuits.

Your Role: Chronicle Wealth is searching for a research, operational, and client focused Associate Portfolio Manager to join our growing Investment team. As part of the Portfolio Management team you will research and analyze investment opportunities across a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, private debt and other alternative strategies. You will also work closely with Financial Advisors to evaluate the financial objectives of high-net-worth clients and develop customized asset allocation strategies and investment policy statements. You will also play a hands-on role in the operational side of our funds β€” including fund administration, cash management, and NAV oversight β€” either performing these tasks directly or overseeing an Investment Co-op as they carry them out. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing wealth management firm where you will have the opportunity to manage portfolios on a discretionary basis, free of conflict and as a true fiduciary.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Financial Advisors to effectively evaluate the personal and investment needs of clients to construct customized fund allocations, asset mixes and investment policy statements.
  • Create impactful client presentations to convey Chronicle's investment philosophy and client specific key findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor and manage client portfolios to ensure compliance with the investment policy statements.
  • Prepare for and participate in client review meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Administrators to ensure the smooth onboarding and ongoing service of clients.
  • Conduct in-depth macro-economic and market research and prepare briefings for the Investment team.
  • Monitor the performance of and conduct due diligence on new and existing investment strategies.
  • Serve as a member of the firm's Investment Committees.
  • Contribute to the preparation of commentary regarding the financial markets and portfolio performance.

Fund Administration & Operations:

  • Perform, and, where an Investment Co-op is in place, oversee and review, core fund administration functions for Chronicle's funds, including cash management, capital calls, and daily NAV reviews.
  • Maintain and/or oversee documentation for Chronicle funds β€” invoices, statements, capital call notices, distributions, audited financial statements, tax documents, and related records β€” ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with fund accountants and auditors to provide information as required, directly or by directing and reviewing the work of the Investment Co-op.
  • Act as a day-to-day mentor to the Investment Co-op on fund administration tasks, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to firm procedures.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • 2-5 years of work experience.
  • CFA or CIM designation.
  • Currently registered or have previously been registered as an Associate Advising Representative or an Advising Representative or have sufficient relevant experience to become registered.
  • Interest in learning about a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, private debt and other alternative strategies. Prior experience in one or more of these areas would be considered favourably.
  • Passionate about investing and helping clients achieve their goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of complex investment management strategies.
  • Comfort with fund operations and financial data β€” including capital calls, NAV mechanics, and fund documentation β€” or willingness to build this expertise.
