The Design Integrator supports our design Office and plays a key role in ensuring the integration of engineering designs and changes across commercial aircraft development and in-service lifecycle. The role focuses on design integration, change implementation (PCR / RFC), interface management, and design maturity, ensuring alignment with program objectives, airworthiness, certification, and industrial constraints.

You will act as a central coordination point between The Design Office, Engineering CoCs, Program, Manufacturing, FAL, Certification, and Supplier management, providing consolidated visibility on design impacts, interfaces, risks, and maturity at aircraft and WP level.

Your Role

  • Design Integration & Technical Coordination: Coordinate and integrate engineering activities across multiple commercial aircraft design domains (structures, systems, cabin, EWIS, interiors, stress, etc.). Ensure design consistency and technical coherence across impacted aircraft work packages. Act as Design Office focal point for design interdependencies and interfaces at aircraft and WP levels.
  • Engineering Change & PCR / RFC Integration: Support and coordinate engineering changes (PCR / RFC). Assess, consolidate, and communicate design, certification, manufacturing, and interface impacts of changes. Ensure approved changes are properly integrated into the commercial aircraft design baselines, drawings, and deliverables.
  • Interface Management (Mirabel Ecosystem): Interface with Program (PCL / PMBP), Project Engineers, PMO, Manufacturing, Quality, and Certification teams. Coordinate with Mirabel FAL, industrialization, and production support teams to ensure design robustness and producibility. Support and contribute to MFT / IPT governance for A220 changes and topics.
  • Planning, Monitoring & Reporting: Contribute to and monitor A220 Design Planning Schedules (DPS) and design milestones. Track design maturity, deliverables status, and technical risks across impacted CoCs. Provide structured and synthetic reporting to Airbus Canada Design Office and Program leadership.
  • Certification & Compliance Support: Support design activities linked to certification, airworthiness, and continued operational safety. Ensure design deliverables and documentation are consistent with certification plans, compliance showings, and CAW requirements.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement: Participate in Design Office reviews, PCR reviews, milestones, and governance forums. Contribute to continuous improvement of the aircraft design integration processes, tools, and ways of working.

  • Engineering background (Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an aerospace Design Office or design integration environment.
  • Practical experience with engineering change management (PCR / RFC).
  • Good understanding of airworthiness, certification, and design deliverables in commercial aircraft programs.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in design or integration.
