Canterra Group has been retained by a growing consulting engineering firm to recruit an experienced Building Envelope / Concrete Restoration Specialist for its GTA practice. We're looking for someone who has developed strong technical experience working with existing buildings and structures and wants an opportunity that provides both interesting project work and a longer-term path into leadership.

Our client has an established practice delivering building envelope, structural restoration and rehabilitation projects and is looking to add an experienced professional who can take on increasing responsibility for projects, clients and the development of the practice. For the right individual, there is a genuine career path toward Associate.

The Opportunity

You will work on the investigation, assessment and rehabilitation of existing buildings and structures throughout the GTA. Projects may include:

  • Building envelope investigations and rehabilitation
  • Concrete repair and restoration
  • Waterproofing and water infiltration investigations
  • Structural rehabilitation
  • Building investigations and forensic assessments
  • Rehabilitation design and construction administration

You'll have the opportunity to manage projects from the initial investigation through design and construction while developing direct relationships with clients and contractors.

Requirements

We're interested in speaking with experienced professionals from building science, building envelope, structural restoration and concrete rehabilitation consulting backgrounds. Your experience may include:

  • Building envelope investigation and rehabilitation
  • Concrete restoration and repair
  • Condition assessments and technical investigations
  • Rehabilitation design and specifications
  • Construction review and contract administration
  • Managing consultants, contractors and project stakeholders
  • Preparing technical reports and recommendations
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships

An engineering background and P.Eng. designation would be highly relevant, although we are interested in discussing the opportunity with accomplished building envelope and restoration professionals whose experience aligns with the role.

The Career Opportunity

What differentiates this position is the opportunity to move beyond purely technical project delivery. The successful individual will have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility for projects, clients, mentorship and the continued development of the practice, with a genuine path toward an Associate-level leadership position.

Compensation: Up to $150,000 base salary, depending on experience, with bonus and benefits in addition. If you've built a strong career in building envelope or restoration consulting but are beginning to ask what the next step looks like, we'd be interested in having a confidential conversation. All inquiries will be treated in complete confidence.
