Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Performance Controls Engineer to combine a sharp analytical mindset with hands‑on problem‑solving instincts of a commissioning engineer. The role involves troubleshooting complex issues, pinpointing root causes on operating systems, and driving solutions across internal teams and external vendors.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prioritize, investigate, and drive corrective action for performance issues identified during facility operation.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis using data analysis, first principles, on‑site investigation, or other tools as needed.
  • Validate software/firmware updates with vendors, site service teams, and stakeholders; coordinate subsequent rollouts.
  • Communicate issues to vendors and stakeholders to ensure resolutions are implemented.
  • Support performance testing as required under individual contracts for each facility.
  • Contribute to fleet‑wide initiatives to improve monitoring and analysis processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide input that improves performance across the business, from application design to project execution, commissioning, and service.
  • Document issues and resolutions for tracking, knowledge sharing, and internal/external communications.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols, engineering standards, and company policies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in customer‑focused problem solving.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, self‑directed, highly detail‑oriented, organized, and flexible.
  • Experience troubleshooting with data analytics.
  • Experience in commissioning, performance testing, maintenance, or design of BESS or other power generating facilities.
  • Knowledge of SCADA protocols (e.g., DNP3 and Modbus).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks (fiber optics, network switches, TCP/IP, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time; travel may be on short notice.
