  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of accounting and custody records.
  • Ensure investment-related tax compliance is met including all foreign filing obligations, tax documentation for investment entities and withholding tax recovery in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for complex operational, accounting and valuation related matters.
  • Partner with Investment teams to ensure new mandates and investment structures are operationally supported.
  • Lead continuous improvement across the function by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work, strengthen controls and improve scalability through automation and technology.
  • Support investment-related financial reporting, audit requirements and other governance activities in partnership with Finance, Investments and external auditors.
  • Build strong partnerships across Investments, Finance, Legal, Information Technology and other functions to resolve issues and advance enterprise priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strong policies and controls that protect the integrity of investment data and accounting records.

To Succeed, You Bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in investment operations, finance, accounting, or related function.
  • Experience within a pension plan, institutional asset owner, sophisticated asset manager, insurer or comparable investment organization is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of private equity, infrastructure, private credit and/or real estate investment structures, including related operational, accounting and valuation considerations.
  • Strong working knowledge of public-market investment operations and the ability to provide effective oversight across areas such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, cash and liquidity.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including the ability to coach, develop and empower experienced professionals and people leaders.
  • Sound analytical judgment and the ability to investigate complex issues, challenge assumptions and ensure information is accurate, complete and decision useful.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with Investment professionals, Finance leaders, external providers and senior executives.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investment, financial and operational matters clearly to stakeholders.
  • Experience leading meaningful process improvements or system implementations within an investment or financial environment is an asset.
  • A CPA, CFA, CBV or other relevant professional designation is strongly preferred.
