JOB DESCRIPTION
Human Resources Services (HRS) is an internal function providing global operations and business support across Brookfield’s lines of business. Reporting to the VP of Compensation, this hands-on operational leadership role will be responsible for managing a team of Analysts who process grants, vests, exercises, dividends, and participant requests for Brookfield’s publicly traded global equity programs (NYSE and TSX). The work is transactional, time-sensitive and requires high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will partner with Payroll, Tax, Treasury, HR, Legal, and external vendors (Shareworks, TSX Trust) to execute equity events end to end.
Key responsibilities
- Run the daily operation: assign, prioritize, and track work across multiple concurrent processes (grants, vesting, exercises, dividends, terminations, participant inquiries), managing to SLAs and hard deadlines.
- Own quality: implement and perform review and reconciliation of analysts’ work, maintain checklists and controls, and catch errors before they reach employees, payroll, or filings.
- Maintain real-time visibility into team workload and status through trackers, dashboards, or workflow tools, and intervene early when work is at risk.
- Manage peak periods (vest dates, year-end, grant cycles) with clear planning, backup coverage, and calm escalation.
- Coach, develop, and hold analysts accountable for accuracy and timeliness, and give regular feedback.
- Work closely with vendors including Shareworks and TSX Trust, to manage issue resolution and system enhancements that reduce manual effort and error.
- Serve as the escalation point and expert for complex equity and cross-border tax questions.
Candidate experience should include
- A bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience leading or supervising a team in a high-volume, transactional environment (equity administration, payroll, benefits administration, or similar).
- A demonstrated track record of managing multiple simultaneous processes and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proven ability to review others’ work systematically and spot errors.
- Working knowledge of equity plans, administration platforms (Shareworks preferred), and global equity taxation.
- Comfort with a fast pace, shifting priorities, and high-pressure periods.
- Experience in a public company with SOX-type controls is an asset.
- Ability to use data and tracking tools to monitor progress.
Salary Range: C$120,000 - $180,000
