We are seeking a Senior Site Project Manager to lead our Vancouver shipyard team: a local team of production engineers and Installation Managers/Supervisors who lead an installation team of approximately 60 people.

You will act as the primary point of contact for the customer and ensure that contractual obligations, financial performance, technical requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met. As a leader onsite, you will be responsible for project delivery, day‑to‑day operations, and team engagement, while maintaining a strong connection with our head office. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days in the office during normal operations but may require additional in-person presence during peak production periods.

Reporting to the Director PMO, the Senior Site Project Manager manages the operational, financial, technical, and human resources necessary to meet contractual and company obligations for projects and programs at the Vancouver Shipyard. You will support growth initiatives regionally and within the rest of Canada (and potentially internationally) while ensuring that our existing team continues to perform at a high level.

The responsibilities of this role are:

  • Site leadership & team management: Lead and coach a local team of production engineers and installation personnel to deliver world‑class HVAC systems for current and future shipbuilding programs. Maintain morale and cohesion for a team that is physically remote from head office, ensuring they feel supported and heard. Work closely with Installation Managers and lead the effort in overcoming technical, supply chain and client issues.
  • Project & customer management: Manage installation projects, ensuring goals, timelines, resources, material and budget are aligned with customer and Bronswerk objectives. Develop and maintain a project delivery strategy aligned with customer expectations and Bronswerk’s overall goals, monitoring effectiveness and realigning as needed. Monitor progress, earned value, deliverables and acceptance plans against established baselines; identify and mitigate issues as they arise. Communicate status, risks and opportunities through meetings and reports. Manage and monitor contract delivery, including scope, change orders and compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Technical oversight & coordination: Ensure site realities and constraints are captured in HVAC designs and participate in design reviews with local and remote engineering teams. Support the development of appropriate HVAC designs for different spaces on board ships. Coordinate with local and remote Product Engineers and Equipment teams to ensure their deliverables are aligned with project requirements, design requirements, timelines and budget. Support production engineers in the resolution of installation issues in a timely manner.

Must‑have qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of technical education and relevant experience in HVAC or marine construction.
  • Experience (5 - 6+ years) managing complex construction or shipyard projects, including direct leadership of sizeable field teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project finance and cost control, including budgeting and monitoring earned value.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong relational skills in English.
  • Ability to gain a Canadian security clearance (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident) and controlled goods is required.

Assets / nice‑to‑have:

  • Experience in Marine Construction Management or HVAC system engineering design.
  • PMP certification.
  • Membership in an Engineering Professional Association.

What sets us apart?

  • Flexible work schedule
  • Competitive salary, group insurance & retirement program
  • Performance Based Bonus program
  • Industry leader in Marine HVAC and Refrigeration systems
  • Wellness Program
