Job Posting - Senior Civil/Structural Checker (Contractor) Bluestar Engineering Ltd.
is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in small to medium size upstream oil and gas projects. As a fully integrated multi-discipline organization, Bluestar offers a full spectrum of engineering services for identifying, planning, and executing capital projects and optimizing existing ones.
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Civil/Structural Checker
to join our team on an independent contractor basis. This is a part-time engagement requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week, depending on project requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Check 2D drawings such as Plot Plan, Pile Layout, Structural and Civil drawings, as well as check 3D CAD models and utilize Navisworks.
Review overall Civil/Structural Layout while checking for design issues, clashes, etc., utilizing 3D model, Navisworks and piping GAs.
Assess all vendor drawings to ensure their compliance with related project requirements and the 3D model.
Checking of BOMs (bill of materials).
Coordinate with Project Design Leads and CSA Designers to ensure clients needs are being met within project scope, schedule and budget.
Requirements:
Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent is required.
7 + years of checking experience.
7 + years in an EPCM setting.
Extensive knowledge in AutoCAD drafting software.
Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Proven ability to manage various projects and meet deadlines within project scope.
Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
