As a Valve Responsible Engineer, you will own components across their complete life cycle, from requirements definition and conceptual design through detailed design, development testing, verification, and flight operations. You will be part of a team designing the next generation of valves for crewed lunar vehicles to enable a sustained human presence on the Moon.
Responsibilities
- Own valve designs end-to-end: requirements, interfaces, detailed design, drawing release, test support, and anomaly resolution.
- Perform first-order structural, thermal, and flow analyses to verify designs; coordinate with the analysis team for higher-fidelity modeling (FEA, CFD).
- Size components, select materials, and evaluate performance under pressure, vibration, temperature, and mechanical loads.
- Create Drawings and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to produce manufacturable, inspectable hardware.
- Model valves, fittings, actuators, and interfaces in Creo within the flight vehicle assembly.
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing to source, fabricate, and deliver flight hardware.
- Support development and qualification testing; analyze test data and iterate designs.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical peer reviews.

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in valve or mechanical/fluids component design.
- Working knowledge of propulsion and fluid system components (valves, regulators, check valves, relief valves, actuators) for cryogenic and propellant service.
- Proficiency with Creo (or equivalent parametric CAD) for part and assembly modeling.
- Experience applying GD&T to component drawings.
- Familiarity with design analysis tools such as ANSYS or Thermal Desktop.
- Ability to define test requirements, support test execution, and conduct data analysis.
