We're looking for a talented screenwriter to join our indie team for a dark comedy pilot, a gritty, character-driven piece set in a low-stakes criminal underworld in Vancouver.
This project promises a unique blend of humor and tension, perfect for someone who loves crafting complex, morally ambiguous characters and sharp dialogue.
Your primary responsibility will be to refine and develop the existing pilot script, bringing your voice and expertise to enhance its comedic timing and narrative arc.
We have a strong concept and an initial draft, but we need a wordsmith to elevate it to production-ready status.
This will involve working closely with the director to incorporate feedback and ensure the script aligns with our creative vision.
While specific screenwriting experience is a plus, we're open to all experience levels, from emerging writers to seasoned pros.
What matters most is a strong portfolio or sample of your writing that demonstrates your ability to write compelling dark comedy, sharp dialogue, and engaging characters.
A reel or writing samples are essential for consideration.
This is for an independent production, a TBD paid position.
We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of focused script development work, primarily remote, with some in-person meetings in Vancouver, BC.
The shoot for the pilot is tentatively planned for the second half of October 2026.
We're aiming to wrap up the script development phase well before then.
Interested writers, please send your materials our way.
We'd like to make a decision by November 23, 2026.
