This full-time Top Man position supports water and sewer construction projects. You will direct excavator operators, verify pipe placement, and coordinate pipelayers, labourers, and foremen. The work requires underground construction experience, surveying knowledge, and clear field communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct excavator operators on trench depth and alignment
- Read and maintain line and grade for pipe installation
- Conduct elevation shots and verify pipe placement
- Coordinate pipelayers, labourers, and foremen
- Monitor trench safety and ground conditions
Requirements:
- Two to three-plus years as a Topman or underground construction
- Understanding of trench work and pipe installation
- Experience using levels, transits, or pipe lasers
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Safety-focused approach with strong grade-reading skills
