Lead electrical and civil estimating for utility infrastructure projects with Black & McDonald’s Western Utilities team in Alberta. Use Bid2Win and Accubid expertise daily. As Senior Estimator, you will report to the Lead Estimator and support operations throughout the project lifecycle. The work includes quantity take-offs, cost estimates, conceptual budgets, tendering, bid reviews, and proposal coordination. You will also mentor junior estimators and manage estimating resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare electrical and civil quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- Review drawings, specifications, risks, and construction methods
- Lead tendering, pricing coordination, and bid documentation
- Review subcontractor bids and support award recommendations
- Coordinate proposals, site visits, and project hand-offs
Requirements:
- Seven-plus years of utility project estimating experience
- Degree or diploma in construction, management, or engineering
- Electrical utility, substation, or underground power experience preferred
- Proficiency with Bid2Win, Accubid, Procure, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Bring utility estimating leadership, technical interpretation, and tendering expertise to Black & McDonald’s Alberta infrastructure projects.
