Lead industrial hygiene at Evonik Vancouver Laboratories through exposure assessments and air monitoring. Support controls for highly potent APIs and occupational hazards.
This EHSS Officer maintains programs within Evonik Canada's regulated drug delivery service site. The work covers industrial hygiene, hazardous chemicals, engineering controls, PPE, containment strategies, and safe practices. You will support compliance across pharmaceutical and biotechnology operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead exposure assessments, air monitoring, and occupational exposure evaluations
- Maintain PPE, ergonomics, chemical safety, and process safety programs
- Conduct facility walkthroughs, inspections, and risk assessments
- Implement CAPAs that mitigate identified EHSS risks
- Communicate EHSS expectations to employees, leaders, contractors, and visitors
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, college diploma, or equivalent relevant experience
- Five years of EHSS experience in a regulated industry
- Experience supporting HPAPIs, hazardous drugs, and containment strategies
- Strong communication, training, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- ROH or ROHT designation considered an asset
