Lead software engineering through daily coding and AI delivery at Beacon Software, working inside an established vertical SaaS company. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will own engineering for one Beacon portfolio company. You will learn its stack, ship production software, coach engineers, and help the business modernize delivery. Technologies may include .NET, Rails, Python, TypeScript, Oracle, PHP, and others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write code and ship working software to customers
- Modernize CI, testing, staging, flags, and deployments
- Coach existing engineers across small portfolio teams
- Set the roadmap and own product trade-offs
- Implement retrieval, tools, evaluations, and guardrails in production
Requirements:
- Seven or more years of software engineering experience
- Lead, founding engineer, CTO, or sole-product ownership experience
- Production experience across at least three technology stacks
- Daily use of coding agents and AI-native development
- Independent judgment and comfort working directly with stakeholders
- Bring hands-on leadership, adaptable stack experience, coaching ability, and production AI skills to Beacon Software's portfolio companies.
