About the role
Braber Equipment , a well-established Canadian manufacturer, distributer and wholesaler of agricultural equipment and parts, is seeking an experienced Junior Purchaser to join our team.
The successful candidate is someone who has a strong background in supply chain management, contract negotiation, vendor management, and inventory control. If you are a highly motivated individual with a passion for supply chain management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Oversee inventory levels and set the open-to-buy plan
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
- Negotiate and improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing procurement best practice tools and methods
- Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and prepare supplier performance report cards
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly purchasing reports to analyze performance and make improvements
- Other duties, as required
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Purchaser
- Familiar with ERP and MRP systems, preferable Syspro
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills
- Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Works independently and with a team
- Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers
- Effective problem solving
- Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal development
- Effective team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Thrives on challenges and embraces opportunities to learn and grow
- Comfortable and confident communicating by phone
Education and Experience requirements:
- Relevant business degree preferred; CPIM or CIPS or similar qualification is beneficial.
- 1 - 2 years’ experience or working in purchasing team within a manufacturing environment
