Lead industrial hygiene and EHSS programs at EVONIK Vancouver Laboratories, supporting hazardous APIs, chemicals, contractors, and regulated operations. This Vancouver position centers on exposure assessment and risk control.
The EHSS Officer maintains programs across occupational health, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and GxP requirements. The position supports a pharmaceutical CDMO providing lipid nanoparticle drug product services. Key work includes air monitoring, containment strategies, inspections, incident investigations, technical documentation, and employee training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead industrial hygiene assessments, monitoring, evaluations, and controls
- Support highly potent APIs, hazardous chemicals, and occupational hazards
- Maintain PPE, Lockout/Tagout, ergonomics, chemical safety, and waste programs
- Manage contractor onboarding, Avetta compliance, permits, and safety controls
- Coordinate emergency drills, investigations, audits, and corrective actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, college diploma, or equivalent related experience
- Five years of EHSS experience in a regulated industry
- Experience with HPAPIs, hazardous drugs, exposure assessments, and containment
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC, WHMIS, TDG, and applicable EHSS standards
- Strong communication, training, organization, and problem-solving capabilities
