Olthuis van Ert is seeking a litigation associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Vancouver office.
We are a boutique litigation firm focused on commercial litigation and public law. We advise and represent clients in all levels of provincial and federal courts and tribunals.
Responsibilities
Drafting pleadings, chambers applications, and written argument
Conducting legal research
Advising and reporting to clients
Conducting examinations for discovery and managing discovery processes
Representing clients in administrative proceedings, court proceedings, mediations and settlement negotiations
Supervising support staff
Networking and building relationships to grow your practice
Qualifications
A record of strong academic achievement
Superior research and writing skills, and clear, persuasive oral advocacy
A genuine interest in developing a long-term litigation practice in a boutique setting
Sound judgment and a practical, client-focused approach to resolving disputes
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing files and deadlines
Initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
What We Offer We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including annual discretionary bonus, extended health and dental benefits, life and disability insurance, and a wellness allowance.
Salary range:
$150,000 to $175,000 depending on year of call and experience.
