We provide advice to our clients in labour and employment law matters, as well as in related practice areas including commercial litigation, human rights, occupational health and safety and workers’ compensation, professional regulation, and privacy law. We enjoy providing legal services to a very diverse group of clients in most sectors of the economy – including employers, unions, and individual employees.
We are looking for a Labour & Employment Litigation Lawyer to complement our boutique practice. We are specifically looking for a proven litigator with demonstrable interest in developing or continuing a workplace law practice and supporting litigation files including employment litigation in the Courts, related commercial litigation claims, labour arbitrations, and advocacy before administrative tribunals and professional regulators.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Good academic credentials from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia;
- 3+ years post-call experience in labour and employment law and/or a related area of law, with a focus on litigation and advocacy;
- A genuine interest in labour and employment law, which may be demonstrated through legal work experience, completed coursework in related areas, extracurricular involvement, and/or prior professional work experience such as in human resources management;
- The desire to build a career in a collaborative rather than compartmented small firm environment, with the ability to maintain rapport with all of the lawyers and staff at our firm.

The salary range for this role is $95,000 – $175,000 per annum, depending on various factors including the successful candidate’s experience. Our compensation structure is built on the understanding that our lawyers are best equipped to service our clients with the benefit of work-life balance, enabled by a lower annual billable hour target of 1,200 hours. In addition to base salary, the successful candidate will be offered eligibility for an annual bonus, participation in our comprehensive group benefits plan, and coverage of Law Society of British Columbia fees. We also provide Canadian Bar Association membership and encourage our lawyers to participate in continuing professional development, including other memberships or opportunities that are of interest to the successful candidate.
