Darnell Law Group seeks an experienced legal assistant for its growing Surrey litigation practice. The position involves family and estate litigation support, document preparation, court filing, deadline tracking, and communication with clients and counsel. You will independently manage daily requirements while working closely with lawyers and the Litigation team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit, finalize, and file court documents
- Organize applications, hearings, mediations, discoveries, and trials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and registries
- Maintain files, calendars, and bring-forward systems
- Track limitation periods, deadlines, and follow-up dates
Requirements:
- At least three years of litigation experience
- Family or estate litigation experience preferred
- Recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program completion
- Knowledge of BC litigation procedures and Rules of Court
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency; Clio experience is an asset
