- Execute day-to-day technical and strategic mandates based on areas of expertise and in coordination with BBA's internal disciplines located across Canada
- Deliver protection and design solutions: Equipment and Design specifications, detail design, vendor bid evaluation, factory acceptance testing, vendor drawing review
- Develop HV/MV designs: single lines, layouts, BOMs, schematics, wiring
- Design relays, settings, configurations for various applications (line, transformer, cap banks, etc.)
- Perform system studies (short circuit, load flow, interconnection, protection)
- Conduct technical reviews and oversee engineering and design activities
- Lead various design phases of projects: proposal development, design development, design basis, detail design
- Mentor junior engineers
- Provide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clients
- Support execution of BBA strategy and action plan
Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree and registered as a Professional in Canada
- 12 years of experience, specializing in Protection Engineering
- Experience within large industrial, power generation and utility sectors
- Demonstrated experience with different vendors and different protection schemes
- Strong communications, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform widely varied tasks and meet widely varied challenges
- Proven knowledge of project‑management practices
- Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC)
