The Apotex Centre for the Aged is seeking a dedicated Recreationist to support therapeutic recreation initiatives. In this permanent part-time position, you will assess residents' goals and interests while designing adaptive activities to promote their independence and well-being. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enrich recreational offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement therapeutic programs with residents
- Document and report required assessments and progress
- Attend interprofessional meetings to align goals
- Supervise and train volunteers effectively
- Maintain program supplies and resources
Requirements:
- Two-year College Diploma in Recreation or Activation
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Recreationist role
- Preferred membership in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
- Skills in evaluating creative recreation programs
- Familiarity with geriatric care and community resources
