BayCare is currently in search of our newest Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics (Pool/PRN) who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is well known throughout the southeast United States as a leader in pediatric heart and cancer care. This is a Pediatric Pool position with the opportunity to evaluate and treat throughout St Joseph's Children's Hospital including the PICU, CPICU and NICU as well as in outpatient.
Pediatric Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity function, feeding, and developmental milestones.
- Develop individualized, age-appropriate treatment plans and therapeutic goals in collaboration with families and medical providers.
- Provide evidence-based interventions to support functional performance in self-care, play, school readiness, and social participation.
- Educate caregivers and family members on home programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies for continued progress outside the hospital.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, physicians, psychologists, and social workers.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries according to hospital standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in patient rounds, case conferences, and discharge planning.
- Ensure safe, child-friendly, and developmentally supportive treatment environments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in pediatric occupational therapy practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- OT (Occupational Therapy) or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain
- Required Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy
- Preferred 1-year Occupational Therapy experience
