Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada seeks a geotechnical engineer with zero to three years of relevant experience. You will support mining, public, and fuels projects through computer modeling, soil and rock investigations, material testing, and technical reporting. The work combines independent assignments with project-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site construction observation and subsurface investigation support
- Perform in-situ testing, surveying, and materials testing
- Install instrumentation and inspect industrial facilities
- Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
- Complete foundation, slope, seepage, and earth-retention analyses
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering
- Coursework or research related to advanced soil mechanics
- Experience using Geostudio, LPile, APile, gINT, BoreDM, or FLAC
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada and occasionally the United States
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
