Job Purpose
The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring and testing various components. This includes: manufacture/assembly of the electrical panel, pump/blower(s), wiring of tables, testing of options, sub-components, final assembly and quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine established assembly methods.
- Cuts wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters.
- Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device.
- Connects wiring to accessories, such as relays, plugs, condensers, switches, and solenoids.
- Installs accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units using soldering gun and hand tools.
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, and other electrical testing instruments.
- May attach headers, terminals, and mounting studs to etched circuit boards.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills and Abilities
- Related post-secondary education (diploma) required e. electrical technician / technologist.
- Able to read, interpret and apply electrical and pneumatic schematics and diagrams.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of and experience working with tools, concepts and electrical methodologies.
- Electrical aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Team player.
- Able to bend and work on the ground as needed.
- Able to lift and move materials up to 25lbs.
