Axiom Builders is looking for a Superintendent who understands the balance of being relationship-focused and driving a schedule. The ideal Superintendent has experience with wood-frame and concrete construction, managing sub-trades effectively, a track record of safe and on-time projects, and is someone that others follow to your next site.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Project Manager and regularly communicate updates such as field reports, safety inspections, staffing requirements and schedule updates;
- Oversee subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work;
- Ensure sufficient staffing is provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives;
- Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues;
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed;
- Supervise and direct trades and labourers through regular instruction and communication feedback;
- Support CSO and head office in ensuring all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the safety policies;
- Work in partnership with Head Office and communicate effectively with all departments and provide reports as requested.
Skills & Experience
- At least five (5)+ years of experience as an assistant or superintendent for a general contractor on multi-family projects;
- Excellent record of leading a project from pre-construction to completion;
- Experience with infrastructure, roadworks or bridges will be considered an asset;
- Ability to build relationships with not only the field staff, but also clients and other external stakeholders;
- Ability and proven experience to lead and motivate site crew of various sizes and scopes;
- Proven success in influencing a culture of positivity, ownership and reliability on site.
Axiom Builders offers more than just competitive compensation and benefits; we give you the tools to build a long-term career. The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000, adjusted for experience, plus a competitive bonus program.
