This experienced Casualty Claims Specialist investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles casualty claims under Aviva procedures. The work covers litigated and non-litigated files. You will manage reserves, expenses, documentation, and communications while partnering with defence counsel on litigated matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret coverage using case law and policy wording knowledge
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle diverse casualty claims
- Develop file strategies and instruct independent adjusters as needed
- Set accurate reserves according to company protocols
- Partner with defence counsel toward timely cost-effective resolutions
Requirements:
- One to three years handling litigated bodily injury claims
- Experience with liability, premises operations, and auto tort claims
- Mediation, pre-trial, and trial experience
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Related post-secondary education; CIP designation is an asset
