Use repair, painting, and equipment-check skills as a Casual Maintenance Assistant at AVENS–A Community for Seniors. This is on-call work.
The Maintenance Assistant reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and provides coverage for full-time replacements. Duties support AVEN Manor, AVEN Cottages, and independent housing through general labour, repairs, painting, landscaping, equipment checks, and preventative maintenance. Related maintenance education or training is preferred, with plumbing, mechanical, or electrical focus welcomed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general labour supporting property maintenance
- Assist with repairs and painting assignments
- Complete general landscaping duties outdoors
- Check equipment and perform preventative maintenance
- Cover full-time replacements in a casual capacity
Requirements:
- Education or training related to maintenance
- Preference for plumbing, mechanical, or electrical preparation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to obtain and maintain required record check
