  • Define electrical design criteria, technical requirements, engineering priorities, and project deliverable schedules to support project objectives.
  • Review and approve key technical decisions while driving design standardization and implementation of lessons learned across projects.
  • Manage the design, integration, and delivery of critical electrical systems including Main Generator interfaces, Generator Step-Up Transformers (GSU), Unit Auxiliary Transformers, Station Service Systems, MV/LV distribution systems, Emergency Power Systems, DC systems, UPS systems, switchgear, MCCs, grounding and lightning protection systems.
  • Direct electrical infrastructure design encompassing electrical buildings, cable routing and management, electrical heat tracing, and yard electrical systems.
  • Serve as the primary lead for electrical interfaces between Balance of Plant systems and Nuclear Island facilities.
  • Lead utility interface management activities, coordinating technical discussions with utilities, transmission authorities, and stakeholders regarding grid interconnection requirements.
  • Support grid connection strategy development through load flow, stability, fault, protection, and control studies.
  • Collaborate with major industry stakeholders including OPG, Bruce Power, IESO, and transmission service providers to ensure regulatory and technical compliance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces across Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Turbine Generator, Cooling Water Systems, Construction Planning, and Plant Layout teams.
  • Resolve cross-functional design challenges and ensure alignment between electrical engineering solutions and overall plant performance objectives.
  • Establish technical requirements for procurement packages and support preparation of RFP/RFQ documentation.
  • Lead technical bid evaluations, supplier qualification reviews, and vendor clarification meetings to support procurement and contracting activities.
  • Manage vendor technical deliverables, design reviews, and contract execution support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project planning activities including schedule development, cost estimation, risk identification, and business case preparation.
  • Monitor engineering progress, identify technical risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Prepare engineering progress updates and support project management reviews, stakeholder presentations, and decision-making processes.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide technical support for field engineering issues during construction phases.
  • Support commissioning planning, system turnover, startup activities, and integrated testing programs to ensure successful plant energization and operation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables while supporting project schedule, budget, and risk management objectives.
  • Foster effective coordination among engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to achieve project milestones and successful grid integration.
