DESCRIPTION
Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial road and bridge maintenance contractor. We currently have an opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join our mechanical team as 310T Certified Technician for our Thunder Bay W, Ontario division working out of our Atikokan Shop.
- Are you a registered 310T (Truck and Coach) Technician?
- Are you a Motive Power Technician?
- Are you a 310S (Automotive) Technician?
- Are you a 310J (Truck & Trailer) Technician?

We welcome and encourage applications rom 10T, 310S, 310J Technicians, as well as apprentices, as we have apprenticeship developmental programs in place.
This position is responsible for conducting annual safety inspections, performing repairs and following our preventative maintenance program on our current fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. Duties assigned by Lead-Hand/Mechanical Superintendent.
Qualifications include:
- Licensed Truck & Coach Mechanic (310T);
- Motive Power Technician diploma or equivalent trade experience;
- 310S Automotive Service Technician license considered an asset
- 310J Truck-Trailer Service Technician license considered an asset;
- Apprentices are welcome for our developmental program;
- Registered for DriveON portal;
- Valid Ontario Driver's License;
- Knowledge and experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs;
- Knowledge and experience in engine/emission diagnostics, electrical diagnostics and repair;
- Knowledge and experience in heavy truck hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, suspension, and steering;
- Knowledge and experience on Bosch Rexroth salt management system;
- Knowledge and experience in fabrication and welding considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of trade related worksite safety;
- Experience on industry related heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, snow-plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, grader, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, tractors, etc.
- Capable of working overtime as required
- Capable of performing call out to attend vehicle breakdown
This role is a unionized position with wages and benefits as outlined by the collective agreement.
Pay Rate: Based on experience up to a maximum of $40 hourly
