We are committed to building on more than four decades of strength, deep industry knowledge, and design innovation to accelerate our growth and serve our customers even better than before.
As we continue to expand around the world, we are looking for critical thinkers who are data driven, have a strong work ethic and care about best practices and customer outcomes to help us carry out our vision.
We are hiring a Director of Engineering to lead, scale, and shape the global direction of engineering across a distributed organization spanning North America and offshore teams. You will oversee Development, Detailing, and Engineering functions, ensuring alignment between global strategy and regional execution. You will be accountable for establishing best-in-class engineering standards, systems, governance models, and processes that improve speed, cost, quality, and scalability.
This is a highly visible leadership role within a fast-moving product development environment. We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in agile manufacturing environments and can balance technical depth with strong people leadership, operational discipline, and executive presence.
What’s in it for you:
- Ownership: This is an opportunity to lead and grow an engineering function that is actively taking shape. Leveraging your leadership to unite and inspire teams across the organization, you will drive modernization initiatives across engineering systems, automation, AI-enabled technologies, and operational workflows.
- Impact: The work we do and the products we build are critical to helping our clients engage with their buyers and create great experiences. As the Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering value and driving success for the company, its employees and our end customers.
You will:
- Lead, develop and mentor all direct reports, conducting performance management cycles with clear expectations, structured feedback, and individualized development plans.
- Work collaboratively across teams, establishing expectations and deliverables on assigned projects, managing the overall schedule of deliverables for the entire team.
- Nurture a growth mindset, fostering a culture of innovative thinking and creative exploration.
- Develop a long-term strategic and visionary direction for the engineering department, implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing the cost-effectiveness of engineering operations while upholding quality standards.
- Prioritize continuous improvement by interacting with other departments to ensure client deadlines are met and making recommendations to improve process methods, team performance, and the quality of work.
- Uphold company policies and enforce safety regulations, ensuring 5S standards for the department are being met.
You have:
- The technical knowledge: A Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar background with experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- The leadership skills: An effective and credible leader who can build and nurture strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
- The project management experience: Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects of moderate to high complexity within fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environments.
- The flexibility: A valid passport and willingness to travel intermittently both domestically and internationally.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $200,000 CAD annually. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework.
What you can expect from the interview process:
- A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role.
- A virtual technical interview with members of the Engineering leadership team focused on your technical experience.
- A DISC Assessment to support leadership and team-fit discussions.
- A one-hour in-person interview with the VP, Commercial Operations and a member of the HR team.
- A meet and greet with the CEO for the final candidate.
