Senior Accountant opportunity in Halifax, Nova Scotia, focused on financial reporting, general ledger management, and accurate corporate finance information. Support Armco Capital Inc. across Canada and the United States.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes. The position prepares financial statements under ASPE, manages reconciliations, and assists with budgeting, forecasting, and audits. Collaboration with Finance colleagues and internal stakeholders ensures complete, timely information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain general ledger and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare ASPE financial statements and note disclosures
- Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field
- Three to five years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general accounting and financial-reporting knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
