Unreal Engine 5 animation systems are central to this Senior Animation Programmer role at Arcanaut Studios. The position is full-time, remote friendly, and based in British Columbia or Alberta. As a senior programmer, you will extend runtime systems, toolchains, and procedural technologies for a AAA sci-fi action RPG. Your work will support character movement, combat mechanics, and fluid physics. You will collaborate with technical animators, gameplay, and cinematics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and optimize custom Unreal Engine 5 animation systems
- Implement motion matching and machine learning driven locomotion
- Maintain procedural systems, state machines, and animation graphs
- Profile C++ performance using Unreal Insights and profiling tools
- Collaborate on skeletal mesh and asset ingest pipelines
Requirements:
- Five or more years of professional game development experience
- AAA title shipping or support experience, preferably RPG
- Mastery of C++ within the Unreal Engine ecosystem
- Strong understanding of three dimensional mathematics
- Hands on UE5 Toolset experience with Live Link and Sequencer
