Afternoon School Custodial Cleaner 4pm to 12am
The School Custodial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
This role includes daily cleaning, sanitizing, and minor maintenance tasks throughout school facilities, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Job Responsibilities
- Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment to project the safety and health of others
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, offices, washrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly. Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for school events and activities.
- Perform routine inspections of facilities and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow health, safety, and infection-control procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuum cleaners.
- Secure school facilities by locking doors and windows as directed.
- Accurately maintains and cleans housekeeping equipment
- Cleans assigned areas to Aramark and client standards and requirements
- Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
- Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
- Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or cleaning experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
