Job Summary
We are seeking an H&S Specialist - Utilities for a direct hire opportunity in the Toronto area, near M1R 3B3. This role is ideal for an experienced health and safety professional who enjoys field-based work, construction environments, and supporting safe operations across utility-related jobsites.
The H&S Specialist - Utilities will play a key role in promoting compliance, preventing incidents, conducting inspections, supporting investigations, and helping teams maintain safe work practices. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce safe work practices across utility construction jobsites throughout the City of Toronto.
- Respond to workplace incidents, conduct investigations, gather statements, photograph scenes, identify root causes, and prepare reports.
- Complete documented field, facility, and building inspections to identify environmental, health, and safety risks.
- Audit safety practices at worker, supervisory, and management levels to support compliance and continuous improvement.
- Conduct subcontractor and new worker orientation sessions.
- Support PPE ordering and assist with in-house safety training under the direction of EHS leadership.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
