Operate commercial building systems in Winnipeg using HVAC expertise and life safety knowledge. This daytime position runs Monday to Friday with occasional on-call duties.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Building Engineer/Operator supports safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible property operations. The role covers mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and life safety systems. It also includes water treatment, automation, energy management, and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and test fire alarms, sprinklers, generators, and fire pumps
- Respond to tenant requests and document service work accurately
- Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate building system repairs
- Monitor water treatment and building automation systems
- Support projects, compliance, construction, and emergency response
Requirements:
- Minimum five years commercial building operations experience
- Strong mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety knowledge
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and varying conditions
