This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruitment, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together, they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Amazon Web Services is seeking a bilingual (English/French) Solutions Architect to join the Agentic WorkSpaces team in Toronto, Canada. This role requires a professional operating at the intersection of enterprise desktop infrastructure and applied AI—with a primary, clearly defined depth in Agentic WorkSpaces platform architecture (60%), complemented by advisory-level proficiency in applied AI and Large Language Model (LLM) deployment patterns (40%).

The primary mandate is mastery of the Agentic WorkSpaces platform. You will architect, deploy, and optimize Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions using Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Core, as well as Amazon WorkSpaces Applications (formerly AppStream 2.0). You will ensure production readiness for enterprise customers, covering network design, identity federation, image management, directory services, protocol optimization, and operational health. This requires "Level 300" depth—you are the definitive technical authority customers rely on to move from assessment to large-scale production.

The secondary mandate is applied AI consulting. You will guide customers through the agentic AI capabilities integrated into Agentic WorkSpaces—including AI agent configuration, foundation model selection via Amazon Bedrock, prompt engineering, tool integration via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agent-to-agent (A2A) communication patterns. You will evaluate LLM performance, design agent evaluation frameworks, and advise on deployment models for production AI workloads. This role requires a "200+" level of technical depth—sufficient to lead customer conversations, conduct hands-on demonstrations, and identify when to engage deeper AI engineering resources.

Canada represents a strategic growth market for Agentic WorkSpaces. Federal, provincial, and regulated-sector clients (financial services, healthcare, public sector) require native-level French engagement for procurement, compliance documentation, and day-to-day technical consulting. This role directly serves Canadian public sector and enterprise clients, leading discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and production readiness assessments in both English and French. Toronto offers geographic proximity to Canada's largest concentration of businesses while providing access to bilingual talent.

Availability to travel up to 25%–50% of the time for on-site customer engagements across Canada.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with public sector and enterprise clients to assess existing IT infrastructure, identify migration paths, and define production deployment architectures for Amazon WorkSpaces (Personal, Core Managed Instances, Core Bundles) and Amazon WorkSpaces Applications.
  • Design end-to-end Agentic WorkSpaces architectures covering VPC/network topology, Active Directory federation or AWS Managed Microsoft AD, multi-region resilience, image lifecycle management, and protocol optimization for latency-sensitive workloads.
  • Lead Technical Validation (TechVal) engagements—defining success criteria, executing structured test plans, validating performance under production-like conditions, and producing outcome reports with clear go/no-go recommendations.
  • Design migrations from existing VDI platforms (Citrix Apps and Desktops, VMware/Omnissa Horizon) to Agentic WorkSpaces, including application compatibility assessment, user profile migration, and validation of print and peripheral redirection.
  • Ensure production readiness: capacity planning, monitoring and alerting configuration (CloudWatch, WorkSpaces health APIs), patch management cadence, cost optimization (Reserved Instances, auto-stop policies), and development of operational runbooks.
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical stakeholders within client organizations—positioning yourself as the trusted advisor they consult before making infrastructure decisions.
  • Deliver in-person and remote knowledge transfer sessions (workshops, immersion days, bootcamps) to transfer Agentic WorkSpaces operational knowledge to client teams.

Agentic AI Consulting (40%)

  • Guide clients through the capabilities of agentic AI within Agentic WorkSpaces—including AI agent creation, model selection via Amazon Bedrock, prompt configuration, guardrail setup, and tool/action integration.
  • Evaluate foundation model performance for workspace-specific use cases, balancing latency, accuracy, cost, and compliance requirements.
  • Advise on model selection trade-offs between Anthropic Claude, Amazon Titan, and third-party models available via Bedrock.
  • Design and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) server configurations that expose client tools, APIs, and data sources in a standardized format for dynamic discovery and agent tool invocation.
  • Design Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication models enabling multi-agent orchestration across enterprise systems (IT service management, identity operations, document processing, security automation).
  • Create and advise on agent evaluation frameworks—defining metrics (task completion rate, hallucination rate, P95 latency, cost per invocation), establishing baselines, and executing structured evaluations against production workloads.
  • Conduct data readiness assessments: evaluate client data landscapes (CRM, knowledge bases, ticketing systems, identity stores), identify gaps, and recommend remediation strategies to ensure AI agents have reliable access to information.
  • Advise on LLM deployment patterns, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning decision frameworks, knowledge base configuration, vector database selection, and chunking/embedding strategies.

Cross-functional and Go-to-Market

  • Create reusable artifacts—reference architectures, implementation guides, sample configurations, prompt libraries, and data readiness checklists that scale best practices across the SA community and the partner ecosystem.
  • Provide structured product feedback to the Agentic WorkSpaces and Amazon Bedrock service teams based on real-world customer implementations, directly contributing to roadmap prioritization.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, partners, service engineering teams, and support—ensuring the voice of the customer reaches product leadership with accuracy and urgency.
  • Author or contribute to publications for AWS customers—such as white papers, blog posts, technical guides, and case studies that demonstrate Canadian customers' success with Agentic WorkSpaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock — model invocation, knowledge base configuration, guardrails, and agent creation.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for standardized tool integration and/or Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication patterns for multi-agent orchestration.
  • Experience designing agent evaluation harnesses: defining success metrics, building automated test suites, and conducting structured evaluations of LLM-powered systems against production workloads.
  • Experience designing and architecting workload migrations from on-premises VDI to AWS (lift-and-shift and re-architecture patterns).
  • Experience with regulated industries in Canada: federal government (GC Cloud framework), financial services (OSFI), healthcare (provincial health authorities), or telecommunications.
  • Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases (OpenSearch, Kendra, Pinecone), and knowledge base configuration for production AI systems.
  • Experience working with end-user computing or developer communities — delivering workshops, authoring technical content, or contributing to open-source projects.
