Apply transmission analysis skills to Alberta’s electricity system. This Power System Engineering Technologist position develops, validates, and manages transmission-system and electrical-equipment models. You will prepare AESO modeling data packages, line-impedance calculations, and facility-rating reports. The work also supports interconnection studies, capacity assessments, power-flow analysis, and short-circuit information for projects. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, authenticate, and submit transmission modeling data packages Validate models against facility configurations and operating conditions Maintain line-impedance calculations and facility-rating reports Provide capacity, power-flow, and short-circuit information Improve modeling processes with AESO teams Requirements:
Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma APEGA P.L.(Eng.) designation or eligibility to obtain it Minimum six years of relevant transmission or distribution experience Technical understanding of transmission system modeling, operation, and planning PSSE or PSCAD/EMTDC experience is an asset Bring transmission modeling, AESO requirements, and power-system analysis expertise to AltaLink’s Calgary Project Engineering team.
